II Habanos Day in Costa Rica
The last month was celebrated, on the golden sands of Esterillos beach on the coast of Costa Rican Pacific, the II Habanos Day. This event was organized by Cruz Canela & Trust GB S.A., Exclusive Distributor of Habanos S.A. for Costa Rica and Nicaragua, in collaboration with San José’s La Casa del Habano and the Cuban Embassy at Costa Rica.
The II Habanos Day was celebrated at Alma del Pacífico hotel, where participated expert Habanos amateurs, other lovers of the Cuban cigar culture, Smoker’s clubs, members of the local government and the Cuban Ambassador, Mr. Jorge Ramirez Rodríguez, who gave the opening speech of the event.
With a tropical and beach atmosphere were attended around 100 guests, who enjoyed multiple activities as such as conferences, at the frame of the Habanos Academy, tasting and pairing between the vitola H. Upmann Magnum 54 and Flor de Caña Rum 130th Anniversary, both 18 and 25 years.
During the event, the guests enjoyed 9 delicious different dishes of Costa Rican and Cuban food fusion, created by renowned chef D. Fernando Alfaro. Coffee and chocolate were sponsored by Café Britt, which were part of the night’s tasting.
The Habanos brands Romeo y Julieta and Montecristo were the protagonists of the night, and vitolas Romeo No. 2, Wide Churchills and Montecristo Tubes were chosen for celebrate to El Lector de Tabaqueria (The tobacconist reader), trade that has the honor of being the Cultural Heritage of the Cuban Republic.
The night’s entertainment included saxophone and Cuban music by the band Chocolate. The closing of event was in charge by the international DJ, Richard Castro.
