St. John’s, Antigua – November 20, 2024 – The highly anticipated La Casa Del Habano Antigua (LCDH Antigua) officially opened its doors in the heart of the historic Heritage Quay, marking a significant milestone in strengthening cultural and commercial ties between Cuba and Antigua and Barbuda.
The elegant opening was attended by an esteemed group of dignitaries, including His Excellency Sergio Manuel Martínez González, Cuban Ambassador to Antigua, who delivered a heartfelt speech underscoring the cultural importance of the new establishment. Local dignitaries, including the Honourable Charles Henry Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, and the Honourable Daryll Sylvester Matthew, Minister of Education, Creative Industries and Sport, were also in attendance, alongside members of the diplomatic corps from China, Venezuela, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and
others.

Also among the guests were Michael Martin, Owner of La Casa Del Habano Antigua, accompanied by his wife Sally, and Laurence Sautter, owner of Sautter Cigars Mayfair in London, joined by his wife. Their presence underscored the global passion for Cuban cigars and the unique sense of community shared among aficionados worldwide.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony, performed jointly by the Cuban Ambassador and Honourable Charles Henry Fernandez, symbolized the harmonious partnership and shared appreciation for Cuban craftsmanship and culture.

Guests were treated to an authentic Cuban experience with Cuban music, premium Cuban cigars from the Trinidad line and the Diplomaticos Reserva Exclusiva RE Caribbean 2020, as well as a selection of hand-rolled cigars and other renowned brands. Attendees savored Cuban-inspired cocktails, including mojitos and other Cuban rum specialties, alongside Cuban coffee and a delightful array of Cuban-inspired culinary creations.
